In 1997, Roy was traded to the Colorado Avalanche. He helped the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup in 2001, giving him a total of four Stanley Cup championships.
Roy retired from the NHL in 2003. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2006.
