In this book, you'll find stories of canoeists who have been murdered, canoeists who have committed murder, and canoeists who have simply been involved in strange and mysterious events. You'll also find stories of canoe races that have turned deadly, canoe trips that have gone awry, and canoe accidents that have claimed lives.

Whether you're a canoe enthusiast or just a fan of true crime, They Shoot Canoes Don They is a book that you won't want to miss. It's a fascinating and chilling look at the dark side of canoeing.

Chapter 1: Murder on the Mississippi

In the summer of 1981, a young woman named Kathy Blair was found dead in her canoe on the Mississippi River. She had been stabbed to death. The police investigation quickly focused on her boyfriend, John McGregor, who had been with her on the river that day.

McGregor initially denied any involvement in Blair's death, but he eventually confessed to killing her. He said that they had been arguing, and that he had stabbed her in a fit of rage.

McGregor was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. He died in prison in 2005.

Chapter 2: The Canoe Killer

In the early 1990s, a serial killer known as the Canoe Killer terrorized the Midwest. The killer targeted young women who were canoeing or kayaking alone. He would attack them with a knife or a blunt object, and then dump their bodies in the water.

The Canoe Killer was never caught, and his identity remains unknown. However, investigators believe that he may have been responsible for as many as 10 murders.

Chapter 3: The Bermuda Triangle of Canoeing

The Bermuda Triangle is a region of the Atlantic Ocean that is known for its mysterious disappearances of ships and airplanes. However, there is also a Bermuda Triangle of canoeing, located in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota.

Since the 1930s, there have been over 100 canoeists who have disappeared in the Boundary Waters. Some of these canoeists have been found alive, but many others have simply vanished without a trace.

There are many theories about what happens to canoeists who disappear in the Boundary Waters. Some believe that they are abducted by aliens, while others believe that they are swallowed up by a whirlpool or a sinkhole.

Chapter 4: The Curse of the Algonquin

The Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada, is a popular destination for canoeists. However, there is a dark legend associated with the park, known as the Curse of the Algonquin.

According to the legend, the Algonquin is cursed by the spirits of the Algonquin people who were forced to give up their land to the Canadian government in the 19th century. The spirits are said to be angry and vengeful, and they are said to cause canoeists to get lost, capsize, or even die.

There is no evidence to support the legend of the Curse of the Algonquin. However, there have been a number of canoeing accidents in the park, including some that have resulted in death.

Chapter 5: The Canoe Race from Hell

In 1979, a canoe race was held on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. The race was billed as the "Canoe Race from Hell," and it quickly became a nightmare for the participants.

The race was held in the spring, when the Colorado River is at its highest and most dangerous. The water was cold and fast, and the rapids were treacherous. Several canoeists were injured during the race, and one canoeist died.

The Canoe Race from Hell is a reminder of the dangers of canoeing, even for experienced paddlers.

They Shoot Canoes Don They is a fascinating and chilling look at the dark side of canoeing. With over 300 pages of canoe-related crime stories, this book is sure to keep you entertained from cover to cover.

Whether you're a canoe enthusiast or just a fan of true crime, They Shoot Canoes Don They is a book that you won't want to miss.
